Comments: a book of patter for common effects. George's second book of patter, his first being Talks for Tricks. Each entry has a brief description of the effect, and then the suggested patter, usually with some comedy. A couple of the routines have some derogatory language, and much would need to be adapted to modern audiences. The workings of the effects are not provided.
